In 2008 Fernthai Volunteer Foundation is seeking to move the organisation into a new phase by applying for full governmental registration. We already have a board of 7 directors in place, a secretary and a chairman. To do so will cost 200,000 Thai Baht - around £3000 although we can register £1500 in assets. Once registered it will enable our foundation to vastly expand into the voluntary sector and provide vital aid for some of Thailands poorest kids. We already have seven primary schools desperate for our voluntary aid and teaching skills. We're currently also working in co-operation with the United Nations and the Pearl S Buck Foundation giving vital HIV/AIDS awareness education in remote rural villages. We will also be working alongside many local community members offering help in executing a new project for 2008 which has already been secured and involves the planting of 100,000 new trees throughout the Ubon Ratchathani region of North Eastern Thailand (Donated by the government in conjunction with the forest department).
